Significant Negative - The First Nonary Game
Regained: Game #213
Form: five lime-flavored candies
Taken? No
...And then, Clover got one of her worst Sig Negs as her second memory regain. Sob.
This memory takes place offscreen, nine years before the first game, when a bunch of kids were kidnapped for an experiment in the development of psychic powers. Clover and her brother were both taken, but separated. Each pair of siblings was told to solve the various puzzles and try to transmit the answers to each other, or their brother or sister would die. So not only is she terrified, but she knows that if she screws up, Light might die. And all this pressure is on a nine year old! Who's not a champion puzzle solver, cause she's nine.
As for what else might have happened to those kids in there, canon's not explicit, but Boy Howdy, there sure is a room named The Torture Room, and those cells sure look horrific, and everyone sure is traumatized. I think I'll just stick with Clover never talking about it, ever.
They do make it out, eventually, and she's reunited with her brother - who tells her that someone in his group had died. Because Akane sure is Schroedinger's Cat.
Also worth noting that one of the other kids in her group was a girl named Ennea, who had a twin named Nona in the other group. Those two are, of course, Lotus's daughters.
Effects:
- Yep. Trauma. Lots of trauma.
